National workshop for arriving at an integrated model for screening and treatment of Diabetic Retinopathy in India

Sreedhareeyam Ayurvedic Eye Hospital & Research Centre, in collaboration with ICMR–NIRDHDS and WHO, successfully hosted a one-day national workshop on “An Integrated Model for Diabetic Retinopathy Screening and Treatment in India”.

The event brought together top doctors, researchers, and health leaders from across India to explore how AI-powered screening can work hand-in-hand with Ayurvedic treatment to prevent vision loss from Diabetic Retinopathy (DR) — a leading cause of blindness in working-age adults.

The workshop saw participation from senior officials of ICMR, WHO, NHM Kerala, Ministry of AYUSH, and faculty from AIIMS, Frimley NHS (UK), along with eminent Sreedhareeyam doctors.
