Koothattukulam: Union Minister of State for AYUSH, Prataprao Jadhav, stated that the goal of the Ministry of AYUSH is not to replace modern medicine, but to work alongside it to make healthcare more effective.

He was speaking after laying the foundation stone for the Research and Study Centre for Ayurvedic Medicines at Sreedhareeyam in Koothattukulam. India is proposing a healthcare approach that integrates ancient wisdom with modern science. The country is building a healthcare system that is preventive, affordable, and holistic.

Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India is redefining the very concept of healthcare. Today, AYUSH is not merely an alternative system of medicine but has become a key pillar of a comprehensive healthcare strategy, he added.

The function, held at the Sreedhareeyam Auditorium, was presided over by Koothattukulam Municipal Chairman Reji John. Chandy Oommen MLA attended the event as the chief guest.

Sreedhareeyam Chairman N.P. Narayanan Namboothiri paid tribute to Dr. N.P.P. Namboothiri, an ophthalmic expert and co-founder of Sreedhareeyam.

Koothattukulam Municipal Councillor Maya Viswanathan, Sreedhareeyam Vice Chairman Hari N. Namboothiri, Managing Director Parameswaran Namboothiri, Chief Physician Dr. Narayanan Namboothiri, and CEO Biju Prasad, among others, attended the event.
