It's our eyes that enable us to experience the beauty of this wonderful world in a million rainbow of colours and myriad shades of light and shadows. Today, Sreedhareeyam is a ray of hope to innumerable people who are deprived of this greatest gift-vision. The research centre and hospital specialises in Ayurvedic treatment of ailments related to eyes, ears and nose.

Sreedhareeyam Ayurvedic Eye Hospital and Research Centre is born from the famous Nelliakattu Mana, a traditional household of Vaidyas (physicians). The ancestors of Nelliakattu Mana were bestowed with vast knowledge and skills in the Ayurvedic eye care by none other than Maharshi Parasurama which is handed down through centuries. Many great Vaidyas were born to this Mana, highly renowned in their time. People from far and near used to throng this house, seeking cure for various ailments related to the eyes as well as snakebite cure. The treatment of snakebite (visha chikitsa) was later discontinued as modern anti-venom treatment took root in Kerala.

The Ayurvedic physicians of the Nelliakattu Mana are today professionally qualified doctors with many years of intense clinical experience and expertise. They personify a fusion of scientific and technological advancements in modern medicine combined with traditional knowledge of Ayurveda, to create a line of treatments that has proven to be highly effective and beneficial for thousands of patients.

The inpatient facility that was started with 8 beds six years back has today grown into a 260 bedded hospital. Patients from all over India and from Europe, USA, Japan, U.A.E. etc reach the hospital for solace to their ailments. The hospital treats and cures many ophthalmology problems which are not normally curable by other medical sciences. Today the name of the hospital is widespread and the hospital is well recognized. The hospital provides excellent treatment and unique medical care with 17 doctors and more than 80 nursing staff doing dedicated service round-the-clock. The hospital provides holistic and wholesome vegetarian food cooked according to Ayurveda principles at our own kitchens.
